Future Plans; Youtube Channel

After three long years of putting it off, I’ve finally mustered up the courage to return to Gaming Oblivion. I have a few goals in mind for the site in the coming weeks and months. Here’s a sneak peak:

  • Steady stream of reviews of new and old games
  • Consistent reporting of gaming news
  • Revamp of the site and forums

What I’m most excited to reveal is my announcement of a Youtube channel in the works. While I’m not quite sure what I want it to focus on,  my current plan is to make it focused on the Souls (Demon’s and Dark Souls) series. I’m a big fan of the series and I consider myself quite good, so I might concentrate on PvP videos or a Soul Level 1 playthrough. If that doesn’t pan out, It’ll be my website to host video reviews to go along with my written reviews.

The sky is the limit here, so hopefully you all see some of these plans in the the near future.

Demon’s Souls Review

System: Playstation 3

Release Date: October 6th, 2009

It’s been a long time since my last review, but I’m still alive. I didn’t die horribly, at least not in real life, because in the game I’m about to review that’s exactly what happened to me.

Gaming Oblivion Forum Now Open To Public

I mananged to hurry up and finish the GO forum over the past couple days. I added a link to the main menu at the top of the page. I hope this will help the site kick off and become the next big thing.

In other news, I am getting my copy of the 3DS on launch day. The review will be up around a few days after that.

Enjoy the forum!

Working On Gaming Oblivion Forum; 3DS Review Soon

I may be getting ahead of myself, but I’m working on a GO forum hosted by Proboards. It’s a long way off, but I plan on setting it up so that GO readers will go to the forum, join up, and discuss the site reviews and news. I’m really excited for this added feature to the site.

Also, I know I’ve promised a bunch of reviews, but I swear I’ll get this one up. I’ll have a review of the Nintendo 3DS up by the end of the month. Expect it to be on the site a little after the console’s release date.

Apologies; Site On Hiatus

Sometimes I really hate school. Thanks to my massive amount of homework, the site is on hiatus until further notice. I promise more reviews when I return. Many apologies to any of my imaginary readers.

Bit.Trip Beat Review

System: Nintendo Wii, WiiWare, iOS, Steam

Release Date: March 16th, 2009

Okay, I opted to go with some of the Bit.Trip games first. I can honestly say that the Bit.Trip series, as a whole, is the weird saga of games I’ve ever played. Each game is a genre-blending romp of a good time. The first of the series, Bit.Trip Beat, is the weirdest of them all.

Upcoming Reviews for February 2011 – Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Bioshock 1 & 2, and More

Managing this site is a lot more time-consuming than I thought. Just getting all the relevant news takes a fairly long time in of itself. But have no fear, for this month of February I will have a few reviews coming at you. Among them is Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Bioshock, and Bioshock 2. If I work hard enough I’ll have a few Bit.Trip games that I’ll review. In fact, the Bit.Trip games do not take very long to write up, so I may just start with them.

I can never decide.

No 3DS Lite Planned in the Near Future

According to Nintendo, they do not have any short term plans to upgrade the device as a “3DS Lite” or some other upgrade.

Iwata, the President of Nintendo, said that they used “all our tricks for Nintendo DS Lite – and more – for cutting down on size right from the start”.

Thank you, The Universe. You really do care.

Bit.Trip Flux Official Trailer

Commander Video is finally coming home in the final game of the Bit.Trip saga, Bit.Trip Flux. The series returns to it’s roots by bringing back the paddle from Bit.Trip Beat and flipping the screen. The game includes gameplay elements from every previous game. I can’t wait! See the trailer below.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t cost 1000 Wii Points.
